CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO
we have been to Cabo twice (2007 and 2015) once with our kids and once without, when you get there the ship does not pull up to a dock, it will use some of its life boats as “tenders” to shuttle people back and fort from the ship to the dock, it can take a little longer to get off the ship if you try getting off first thing.
when we get off the ship at the dock there will be people offering to take you on most of the excursion type things that the ship offers (but cheaper) and we will get someone to take us (water taxi) to the beaches east of the city, usually what they will do is take you to a beach drop you off and arrange a time that they will pick you back up (usually 2-3 hours, then they will take you on a little sight seeing, there is a rock they will stop at and let you do some jumping, alot of fish in that area too for some snorkeling, then to the very end of the baja where the sea of cortez and the pacific meet, seems like it was around $10-15 a person.
here is a local place with several good tour/ excursion options if you want to see or do a little more
our first visit they took us to Lovers Beach, the beach is accessable to both the sea of cortez side and the pacific side, last time we went they were not taking people to that beach for some reason so they took us to a decent beach a little closer to town. (yellow path on map)
Snorkeling, we did a little snorkeling off lovers beach, nothing real great but its a fun place to go because of the beach being open to the pacific side too. there were good fish to see snorkeling by the rocks we jumped off (pelican rock?), if i were to go again to just snorkel i would have the water taxi drop us off by the rock (there is an area roped off for snorkeling so boats are not over top of people) and set a time for them to pick us back up there.
here are some suggestions from some guys on trip advisor
