ST THOMAS, USVI

ST THOMAS, USVI (US Virgin Island)

Transportation, when you get off the ship there are taxis available to about anywhere you want to go, their taxis are a little different, you pay per person (so no sharing a cab) they are usually vans or alot of 4 door trucks with open air seating on the back, there are people that help organize the taxi situation, you will tell them where you are headed and they will put you in a line, a taxi headed to that area will come to that line and fill up. it cost us about $8 each to get to Coki Beach on the north side of the island

US Territory, because it is a US territory they take US currency and our AT&T phones worked the same as if we were in the US (no roaming/international) not sure what other phone providers do though.

SNUBA/Snorkeling, our first visit to St Thomas was in 2016, we did our first SNUBA dive here, there are 2 options for SNUBA here, coral world and VISNUBA (Virgin Island SNUBA) fortunately we got booked with VI SNUBA for $74 each (best SNUBA price i have seen yet), http://www.visnuba.com/ they give you more time under the water than coral world, both include entrance to coral world which normally costs $19, the SNUBA was great, we did it off Coki Beach, my wife and i really enjoy snorkeling, sometimes she will get a little nervous at times snorkeling but she did great with the SNUBA, and after she was done she said she is ready to give SCUBA diving a try. after we finished our SNUBA dive we hung out on the beach for a little and did some more snorkeling, its a good spot for snorkeling, not anything special but just good overall. here is a video of some of our SNUBA

Coki Beach,is nice, its not a real big beach and was a little crowded that day, but there are a few spots you can get some shade under a tree, there is a little dive shop that does rent snorkeling gear.

Coral World, since our SNUBA included entrance we went through coral world to see their stuff, one cool thing they have is a building that you go down a couple levels and there are windows that look into the ocean so you can see the sea life, overall i wouldn’t pay $19 ($10 kids) to see it but since it was included it was worth checking out.
